Can I request a router replacement?

Can I request a router replacement?

1. Official Policy & Equipment Ownership

  • According to the Airwire FAQ, the CPE (which includes the antenna, radio, PoE device, etc.) remains the property of Airwire and is serviced or upgraded by them if needed However, routers are not included in this. If you purchase a router—whether outright or via a contract extension—it remains your property

2. Free Router" via Contract Extension

  • Airwire offers a free router (model varies by package) if you agree to a 12-month contract extension

  • Even then, that router becomes your property, not Airwire's

3. What Happens If Your Airwire-Provided Equipment Fails?

  • If the issue lies with the CPE, since it's owned by Airwire, they are responsible for repairs or replacements as part of servicing

  • But if the problem is with a router you own, then any repair or replacement is your responsibility—Airwire won't provide a replacement for customer-owned routers.

Quick Breakdown Table

Scenario Can You Request Replacement from Airwire? Details
  •     CPE (antenna, PoE, etc.)        malfunctioning
Yes      These remain Airwire's property and they will service or replace it.
  •    Router provided via           contract extension (12 months)
Yes, but then it's                    yours     You get a free router, but it's not      serviceable under ownership terms.
  •   Your own router failing or need upgrade
            No       You're responsible for replacement/maintenance.

Yes, you can request a replacement—but only for Airwire-owned equipment like the CPE. Routers provided to you become your property, so if they fail, you're on the hook. If you're nearing the end of your contract and need a router, consider whether opting for a contract extension to get a free model makes sense for you.
