How is the router configured with Airwire Broadband?

At Airwire Broadband, we make router setup as simple and seamless as possible. Whether you're a first-time customer or upgrading your service, our routers are pre-configured before delivery or installation, so you can get online with minimal effort.

Here’s how the configuration process works:

1. Pre-Configured Router Provided

Airwire supplies a router that is already programmed with your unique connection settings. This includes your username, password (if required), wireless (Wi-Fi) settings, and any network-specific parameters. This means there’s no need for technical setup on your end—just plug it in and go.

2. Plug-and-Play Setup

  • Fixed Wireless Customers: The router connects to the Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector, which powers the antenna installed on your home. Once connected, your internet service will be live almost immediately.

  • Fibre Customers: The router connects to the fibre termination point (ONT) installed in your home. Once powered on, the router will automatically establish a connection with Airwire’s network.

3. Wi-Fi Configuration

Your router comes with a custom Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and secure password, clearly labelled on the device. You can change these settings via the router’s admin panel if needed, but for most customers, the default configuration works perfectly out of the box.

4. Remote Support & Updates

Airwire monitors and manages your router remotely. This allows us to:

  • Troubleshoot connection issues

  • Apply firmware updates

  • Adjust settings for optimal performance
If you ever need assistance, our support team can access your router settings remotely to help resolve problems quickly—without the need for a home visit in most cases.

5. Advanced Configuration (Optional)

For tech-savvy users, the router’s admin panel allows for advanced settings such as:

  • Port forwarding

  • Static IP configuration

  • Custom DNS settings

  • Guest Wi-Fi networks
Airwire support can guide you through these features if required.

In short, Airwire routers are delivered pre-configured for your service type, ensuring an easy plug-and-play setup. We handle the technical details, so you can enjoy a fast and reliable connection without any hassle.
